Do you have this feeling sometimes that you get into a fad that is long over... It feels bit lonely...
I like catching up on older anime series, though I still keep up with the latest stuff.
So actually during my birthday, my boyfriend got me Hakuoki: Memories of the shinsengumi for the 3ds. And I knew it was popular like 5-6 years ago... Now they have a few new series based on that IP.
I don't really feel that I should follow the banwagon reverse harem genre so easily, like uta no prince, starry sky etc. But I should at least give the otome game (not anime versions) a proper try.
So basically, I seriously enjoyed the game...
The game opening in 3D + song was gave me goosebumps:
Hakuoki: memories of the Shinsengumi Opening(The limited edition english sub/japanese original dubbed collection. Comes with a paper fan, mini artbook and towel(with all their ikemen portraits)
I tend to think otome games going to be really really cheezy. That is going to be eye candy and the same pattern of sweet love nothings and erotic kisses and hugs. I was really wrong when I played hakuoki.
There is a really good character development, storyline, their historical roles, there was comradery besides love, and the otome love is built from trust and empathy.
Maybe other pro otome gamers might scoff at me being a noob haha... Like this is the usual stuff you get. Probably many quality otome games which I didn't give it a try and just watch the anime (which usually has bad screen writers) .
So anyway... Any Hakuoki fans still lingering around? ( because I want to spam fanarts) <3
